What Kind of gun safe does Murtaugh have in Lethal Weapon?

I can't remember which one it was but it shows him enter in the code and the door automatically pops down to reveal a suspended gun holster. Great gun safe quick easy access but still very safe.

Don't know exactly. They do make gun safes that have an electric key pad entry style. They take batteries obviously but I don't like my gun up that much cuz it's always with me. I have one with a little combo lock deal. Just check out online stores like cabelas and others have them to.

What kind of gun safe should we buy?

We have a Springfield XD40 hand gun. I am interested in a safe for that. We also have a shotgun and I am interested in a safe for both. Can you recommend a quality safe for just the handgun or one that would fit both. Thanks.

i think they sell them in some walmarts and if they don't (I've seen them in the walmart near my house) you could ask the guy at the sporting goods counter what walmarts do sell them.

i am not saying only males work in the sporting goods department

Is there a way to break into a gun safe without destroying it?

Well we have a RedHead® 11/22 Fire-Resistant Gun Safe, it has a keypad for a password and what they call a spoke handle. We locked it on accident and cant get it open. Is there a secret code or something that will open it up, or is there a way to open it without blowing it up?

Here's the deal....

The person that talks about the lock-out feature is correct. If you don't put in the correct 6 digit number in 3 tries, it will give you a "time-out" of about 15 minutes before you can try again.

SOME safes have will reset to 123456 if you remove the battery and then replace it. But the majority will not.

This is what you would really have to do. Take a digital photo of the safe and the serial number tab. Contact RedHead and explain your situation. They may have you complete an avidavit that the safe belongs to you and you might also have to supply a proof of purchase. RedHead will then go through their records and determine what the electronic combination is. This would mean that you would have to remove the batteries and reinstall them, and then punch-in the combo that RedHead gives you. Also, if you kept the original instructions for the safe, it should have the default combo with the instructions. Again...you have to remove the battery first, then reinstall the battery and the electronic lock will reset to the factory digits.

I know this from experience. I bought a safe from a retailer that was on sale as a clearance item. It turns-out that they locked the paperwork inside the safe. I agreed to purchase the safe and then contacted the manufacturer of the safe. I provided them with complete proofs of purchase for the safe (including the serial number of the safe) and they were able to go through their records and find the correct electonic code to open it.

What’s the best way to reduce moisture in a gun safe?

Our metal gun safe is not stored in the most ideal place. I suspect it will gather some moisture if we're not careful. What can I use to keep the inside dry?

A "GoldenRod" dehumidifier. You can pick one up at Cabela's or Bass Pro for about $30.

Browning makes a rod dehumidifier as well, and it sells for around the same price.

How do you move something as large as a gun safe up a flight of stairs?

A gun safe can weigh 1000+lbs, how would you get it say up a flight of stairs in your house, into your master bedroom?

well , u said u r gonna move it up ur flight of stairs @ home , my advice to u is to check whether that flight would stand that massive wieght (it's half a ton man). specially if it's a wooden stair.
just in case it's not a wooden stair , if it's RC or steel , then u can simply put a slider or two straight bars & tie ur safe putting the robe around a pivot or pillar , making a lever that way , u'll need the help of 3 other persons i guess .......

Leaning wall in stick framed house, is this bad?

We are looking to buy a certain home, however, one wall (exterior wall) is leaning slightly outward. It's a 1000 sq ft single story house and the leaning wall is one of the longer walls. There was an addition built onto the house from the wall that is leaning so perhaps it is leaning as a result of the addition.

Can the wall be straightened out? or is it even worth it?

also is it safe to leave it the way it is?

The type of ceiling could indicate your issues.1. If you have vaulted ceilings and no collar ties. If you have vaulted ceilings and no post and beam structure. (look at the ridge line does it sag down in the middle)?
If you have a flat ceiling at wall height. the walls will not blow out like the above issues mentioned.

How much is it out? one quarter inch in 8 feet is out but not fatal. could have been the original framer.

Can I deduct the cost of a gun safe purchased to store my guns used in my law enforcement profession?

Can I deduct the cost of a gun safe purchased to store my guns used in my law enforcement profession? Or do I have to depreciate it? If I must depreciate, over what period do I depreciate it?

I hope that can't

Is it ever safe to live in a home after someone cooked meth inside?

I have a friend, who's daughter is getting ready to move into a house where there once was a methlab. Of course, ceiling tiles, wall paneling and flooring have all been replaced, and everything has been cleaned top to bottom. I just wanted to ask some Narcotics officers if they think this house is safe? They have a new baby. They also got the house for a very discounted price.

The state has strict regulations on the remedial procedures for meth labs.

That said, you're banking on a private contractor doing a thorough job. We are still informed when responding to an address which was a former meth-lab from 10 plus years ago. Things like to limit our exposure inside the property and keep our gloves on...

I wouldn't buy property that was formerly a meth lab regardless of how discounted. (There's a reason why its discounted)

Your best bet for a full answer would be to talk to the hazmat guys at your fire department.

What is the best gun safe to buy for around $1500 to $2000?

I am looking for a gun safe that will offer theft protection and fire protection. I've looked at Sportsman Steel, Liberty, and Sturdy Safe. I know Ft. Knox, Amsec, and Graffunder are all great safes, but they are way out of my price range. Anyone have suggestions or advice?

Graffunder have the best safety record on the books at this moment in time..
