Question by : My Cat hid one of her Kittens VERY WELL!?
Okay, Before you say...
"Calm Down, Everything will be fine when She feels they are safe" -_- ...
She hid the Kitten after we (Me and my Family) Bathed them (We had to as they were infested with fleas, We found like 30 on one of the babies we removed them by Hand after using Dawn on them and gave them a second bath to reveal more and more)
Afterwards, We head out for some Supper after a long day work Bug Bombing the house...
We came back after that and finished our meals, BEFORE we finished, My Name went down to finish the laundry and check on the Kittens, They were fine and she killed the Fleas that had fallen off that were still alive...
I went down about... 5 Minutes after that, To move them back into their cleaned and sprayed Sheets, I noticed one of the babies were missing (They were in a BIG Container with their Mother)
On top of the Freezer (In the laundry room) I started to freak out cause Paw (My cat I rescued outside as a little baby) I remember when she carried it from my bed - the floor and it fell cause she couldn't grip it well, She somehow got it out of the Container about a 4 foot drop to the floor... (It worrys me if she dropped the kitten, They are only a few days old...)
I made a really high pitch low volume "Miau" to call Paw (I guess you could call me the Cat whisperer... She came from her hiding spot up inside the ceiling of the laundry room (She gets up by climbing over boxes and then up the wall into the non covered beams and what not...
I am freaking out because thats over a 8 and a half feet drop to the floor if she did bring it up there, Even she fell later afterwards while she was trying to get up.
I am even more worried because it's been about 10 hours since this happened in the afternoon, it is now 4 Am, I have been searching EVERY area in my basement (That's where we keep them) Under the stairs *There are a pile of boxes and stuff, I pulled them out and saw nothing but a few fleas so I sprayed it with RAID and all the boxes i took out...
What's more...
She is a First Time Mother, She likes it when I give her a bath and what not, but when its somebody else, She freaks out and hisses (She is not like that when not giving her a bath)
Blah Blah Blah... More random stuff about this nonsense
She has not even considered to go back to where she put the Kitten to feed it!
I let one of the Kittens out for about 20mins for the result that she would pick it up and hide it because She would think it is unsafe for it to be there, She did, But she was like
"Okay, I'm going to hide my baby in a safe spot now"
So I followed her...
She stopped Midway to the Laundry room looked back at me like she was saying in her Cat Mind
"Shit... hes following me"
Every ones been telling me "it will be okay she will take it out when she feels its safe etc"
But no, I doubt she will, even if it is up in the basement ceiling (AKA the upstairs Floor) How the hell will she get it down as its a 5 foot leap from the wood - Boxes and she has already went headfirst into the wall after trying to jump from the Water Container thing aMabob - the Wood
Urrrhnn... I am so worried that it could be dead 3
My NAN* went down
1: They are only a Few Days (About a Week old)
2: She went missing AFTER we finished everything...
3: I REALLY doubt the Kitten is dead YET as Paw continues to try to bring the rest of them wherever the hell she has hid the other one.
4: I am the only one home and have bee searching for nonstop with a high powered Light source from my stepfathers work as he is a carpenter and what not. Paw is laying down with her babies now, and the laundry is... more Chilly then anywhere else in the basement as its got no vents to gives heat.
(4:30 Am) Now
She JUST took another baby and tried to carry it to the door and I looked she stopped and is letting it wobble around the floor. She knows I can't find the other Kitten, So she knows it's relatively safe to hide them there, I just know it.

Now THAT'S a tricky question. I would suggest trying to shorten it if you can, because it was a tad bit tl;dr and that might keep people from answering for you.
First, if you have a way to get the mother cat to meow, do so. If she meows for treats (like a bag of treats, food, canned food, etc.) then bring her to where you believe the kitten is, and tease her to meow. Listen very carefully for a very tiny exhausted mew sound. Then look everywhere you can, avoid moving things if possible. Use a flashlight to try to locate the little thing.
I am afraid I could not find a place where you mentioned age. I'm guessing it's too young to really walk much on it's own? When an infant kitten is left alone, it will search for heat and wobble if possible. They need to be fed about every two hours as well.
And...well I think you'd have mentioned it but just checking, was the kitten missing BEFORE the house was bombed? I kinda assume not, but if so...it's possible the kitten has passed, and the mom relocated it and won't go back because it is not alive and she feels no need to go back.
But whatever the case is, I'd tell your family, "Unless you want to find a rotting kitten in a few days when it starts to smell, I suggest you help me start searching."
Look under things too! And behind things, but do your best to avoid moving anything if possible, because you never know when you might accidentally crush it. Look inside of any open/loose boxes, etc.
