Hopefully you considered what you were going to put in your wall safe before you purchased it to make sure that you got the one that suits you best. But now that your wall safe is smartly installed behind your favorite painting, it is time to get serious. Here is a checklist of possible things that you may want to keep secure from theft or damage, regardless of your original purpose behind the purchase.
First, important documents. Not only is it vital to keep such documents safe, but it is nice to know where to look for them. Types of documents might include birth certificates, marriage and death certificates, deeds and titles, insurance policy information, investment portfolios or information, passports, social security cards, wills and trusts, appraisals, mortgage documents, health records, home inventory, copy of receipts for major purchases, or anything else you may want to keep secure or out of other peoples hands.
Most wall safes are smaller than a full size safe, so rifles may not fit (though there are closet sized wall safes that would work) but hand guns should be kept secure. Keeping a pistol in a safe keeps them out of small hands and possible tragedy. You should also include ammunition or other related items in your safe.
A back up of any important digital media should be kept in your wall safe. What you keep on this external hard drive, CD's or thumb drive will vary from individual to individual but may include the following: digital pictures, financial information, your music, work related documents, personal correspondence, internet book marks, password information etc. You may also want to keep a back up of important computer programs that you use. You do not have to back up your entire computer (unless you really want to), but just things that you would really need or miss. There are plenty of things I am loathe to throw away from my hard drive, but if my computer was destroyed I probably wouldn't even miss! Be aware that if you have a lot of media that you want to protect that it does damage at lower temperatures than paper so you will want a wall safe with higher fire ratings.
Any valuables that you have, such as jewelry. This would also include heirloom items which may have a monetary or sentimental value. This may include collectible items such coins or baseball cards or any other small items you collect. Also, any one of a kind items such as autographed pictures. Basically, whatever is valuable to you that you would not want destroyed in a fire or other natural disaster should be put in your wall safe.
I also like to put a bit of emergency cash in my safe. It doesn't have to be a lot, that is obviously what a bank is for, but knowing that you have some cash in the house that you can access at any time for any reason can bring a lot of peace of mind.
I have tried to be thorough, and though you probably don't have everything I've listed, hopefully it has gotten you thinking as to what is important to you that you need to protect. A wall safe is an important purchase, to keep your valuables and important information safe from theft or damage, so make sure you use it wisely.

To protect your valuables it is essential that you find the right method of protection. You will know which is the right method – your needs may differ greatly depending on what it is that you are trying to hide. For example, if you are trying to hide small items like trinkets, colectable coins or cards, it may be best for you to purchase a small wall safe. A small safe has a few advantages over the bigger ones. First of all, it is easier to fit in your wall, and easier to conceal.
Concealment is a major issue in protection. If you have smaller items to protect, it makes little sense to use a large space for their concealment. Hidden safes are available in a range of different looks, including wall sockets and even bricks. The advantage to this is obvious. If you look at a wall, what do you expect to see? Bricks, sockets, whatever makes up a wall. So for a burglar to find a hidden safe, they need to be either extremely perceptive or have inside knowledge.
If people do not know something is there, they cannot easily put their hands on it, they cannot get into it and they cannot steal what is inside it. So if you have something small to hide, hide it somewhere small. This will make things a lot easier to keep out of the hands of miscreants. Small wall safes are available for this purpose, and fit it perfectly.

In order to protect the goods on which you have spent so much money it is sometimes necessary to spend a little more money. Whatever kind of wall safe you choose, it will need to be one that is practical, reasonably priced and most importantly, one that does the job that you bought it to do, the way you want it to do it. There are certain indispensable tips when it comes to buying a wall safe for your home, one of which is: Don’t make it obvious.
No items matching your keywords were found.

An obvious, visible wall safe can be almost as damaging to the security of your property as none at all. Burglars, being the resourceful criminals they are, may well have scoped out your house before they attempt to burgle it. If they see a wall safe they will know that there are things in there which you are seeking to protect. And if they get a good luck at the wall safe, they will know what kind it is and may well be able to research ways to get around it.
It is therefore of paramount importance that when shopping for a home wall safe you make it as indistinct from the décor of your home as you possibly can. This will make it harder for criminals to detect, and if criminals cannot detect it they cannot research it, crack it and clean it out. The safe itself should be as difficult to get into as possible. This can be done with simple PIN protection or biometric data.

Most people purchase a safe to protect personal valuables from fire or theft. Your circumstances, as well as personal preferences, determines your needs in what type of safe you need. There are a lot of safes out there, especially if you take into account all the small and portable safes. But when it comes to the larger home and gun safes, there are three main styles based upon where the safe is placed. Those three styles are floor, in-floor and wall safes.
When I think of wall safes, I think of TV or movies and safecracking. Such as Jennifer Garner in Alias having to steal the priceless Rambaldi artifact from the bad guy's office safe. In movies, the safe seems to usually be hidden behind a picture, like in the Thomas Crown Affair, so that may not be the best way to disguise wall safe since that would be the first place any movie goer would look.
Wall safes are usually smaller than floor safes, are not very difficult to install, and provide convenient storage for important items. Of course, if installed in dry wall, it is not very secure from burglars since they could just remove the entire safe and carry it off to open else where. If you need security and not just fire protection (which you probably want, or why would you conceal your safe in a wall? Just because its cool?) then you need to install the safe with concrete in a concrete, block or brick wall.
Floor safes are the style seen a lot in local sports and general stores. These are safes that, as you can probably guess, are designed to sit on the floor. They are normally quite heavy and are bolted down, usually to the floor but often to a wall also, or two walls if the safe is placed in a corner. Both the weight and the bolts are huge deterrents to burglars. If you are not placing your floor safe on a ground floor, you will want to make sure that the floor can support the weight of the safe. The last thing you want is your safe to break through the floor and fall to the basement or apartment bellow you!
In its own weird way, an in-floor safe is a combination of floor and wall safes. You use the floor instead of the wall, and you place the safe inside of it. These types of safes often do not meet UL construction guidelines to earn a UL fire rating, but still are fairly safe against fire and burglary if installed wisely. The best place to put an in-floor safe is in the corner of your concrete basement floor. The basement because it is the lowest floor in your house. Fire rises, so the safe won't get as hot as quickly as a safe higher up in your house. This gives the extra fire protection desired and compensates for the lack of in-floor safes not meeting UL standards. The concrete is best for the same reasons wall safes are more secure in concrete - harder to carry off. And finally, in the corner because if someone does try to break into your safe, it makes it a lot more uncomfortable for the thief, it is harder to access from all sides and therefore takes longer to break into.
Any of these three styles of safes is great for protecting your valuables, you just have to decide what works best for you. If you are building a home, then it is an opportune time for installing in-floor or wall safes, but these can be installed in any home at any time as long as you meet the manufactures guidelines. So don't be deterred and rule out these options. Check out all options before choosing your safe.

Who doesn't like the idea of a wall safe? They are cool and fun. As a kid I used to dream about how to make special hiding places for things, both inside and out. It wasn't very sophisticated. Usually a little box or hollowed out tube of some sort would keep me happy. Of course, hide-and-go-seek was always my favorite game. As an adult, I still have a fascination with all things clandestine and sneaky. Secret codes, hidden compartments, bugs, top secret information, listening devices, that sort of thing. I guess the appeal of a wall safe comes from the excitement of knowing something that someone else doesn't.
Sometimes a wall safe is best when it is disguised as something common, something we are all used to seeing. Valuables don't always have to be hidden behind an expensive painting or fancy moveable bookcase. Besides, most of us can't afford that anyway, and studies have shown that a thief only spends just a few minutes inside a place that they intend to steal from. I am pretty sure that looking behind bookcases and paintings is something any respectable burglar does right away.
So, like I said, sometimes a wall safe is best when it is simple. For example, one of my favorites is those little safes that look like a common electrical outlet and wall plate. They are cheap, super easy to install, and just downright fun. I am sure that anyone that wanted to could even make one. To install one of these you just have to cut a small rectangle out of your drywall in a suitable location and stick the little wall safe inside. Now you can hide away small valuables in a place so common that a thief will not even think about looking there. I even read that in some precincts, police are finding that these tiny inexpensive units are better than an expensive locked safe!
Now I gotta admit that this little gadget is a little under dressed for some occasions. One problem is that only small items can fit. Another obvious downside is that it isn't locked, meaning that someone could accidentally access it, and last, it does not offer any fire protection. A wall safe that is more suited to protecting weapons or large amounts of cash, passports, deeds, etc., certainly needs to be locked up and offer some degree of fire protection. Alas, there is a wall safe for such purposes. These are designed to be installed in any standard 2x4 or 2x6 framed wall. They could even be built into a cabinet. On the outside these safes tend to have ways to attach things like pictures, mirrors, dart boards, or other items that would hide the safe.
Like most things, you get what you pay for, and a wall safe is no different. Those designed to be fire proof, can be creatively concealed, have high-tech fingerprint or numeric access technology will cost a pretty penny. I would, however, definitely opt for one of these if I had handguns or other dangerous or high value items to conceal. Until then I think I'll try my hand at making something simple and fun, like a hollowed out book. Wish me luck!

Everybody wants to keep their valuables safe. It goes without saying, of course – having spent money on items, you do not want just anybody to be able to lay their hands on them. Some items are even more sensitive than that. Personal effects like banking details and credit card statements can be used by identity fraudsters, so there are many things that you need to be protective over. One way of doing this is to install an in wall safe.
An in wall safe is useful to the person trying to keep their personal effects safe, because it can fit directly into the décor of their home without making itself obvious. Any safe can be a wise security investment, but one that is immediately visible may present a challenge that an enterprising burglar feels that they can take on. So an in wall safe, which can be completely imperceptible to the naked eye, works as a deterrent by hiuding the fact that there is anything to deter.

In wall safes can be installed fairly swiftly, and do not need to cost the earth. That is not to say that there will not be an initial and obvious outlay, but look at it this way – it is better to spend a little bit of money protecting your valuables than a lot of money putting right their disappearance.

Sometimes keeping your valuables safe is such an important matter that you need to spend a bit of time and money on it. In such a situation, the wall safe is an ideal item as you can install one and then easily cover it up simply by hanging a painting over it (a bit of a Hollywood cliché, but it works!) or just moving another item in front of it. This allows you the peace of mind to know that your valuables are tucked away somewhere that may not even be seen by burglars, in a safe for which they will need to guess the combination.
Amsec have for some time been the holders of an enviable reputation for providing security solutions which fit exactly to their customers’ needs. Their range of wall safes are perfect for the customer who needs something that will be easy to install, hard to get into without the combination, and inconspicuous. Even if the thieves get around the issue of guessing the combination by instead sliding the safe out of the wall, they will be completely unable to drill into the safe from the outside due to the construction of its exterior.
It is a genuinely good idea to invest in a wall safe if you have valuables of a sentimental or commercial nature, as the number of opportunistic thefts that happen when an item is left out in the open is quite incredible. Why wait until after you have been burgled to put things right?

Whether you work from home and need to keep your documents safe from little hands, or you have a number of valuable items that you want to keep away from the reach of potential criminals, you will need to invest in some form of security product . A wall safe is almost indispensable for anyone wishing to keep items of high value away from people who should not be laying their hands on them. If you wish to make sure that people cannot get to your most valued items, then you need to do something about it.
Buying a wall safe is a major step for anyone – you need to make sure that you get the correct one for your purposes. People who wish to make your valuables their own may well be a little more resourceful than you would wish them to be. So a simple safe installed in your wall may not be the immediate solution to your problems. Shopping around to make sure you get the right model is liable to be a drawn-out process. But it is worth spending time on this because you have to get the best one for your needs.
A wall safe should be unobtrusive – if you can hide it, it may not even come to the attention of a burglar who is looking to help themselves to your valuables. But if it must be visible then you need to make sure that it is difficult to get into. This may entail using biometric data or a four or six-digit PIN code. Whatever the case, you need to ensure that you are security aware enough to use it correctly – or it may be more harmful to your needs than it is beneficial.
