Sounds like you may have agoraphobia. Right now the safest place for you may be your doctor’s office. The doctor can tell you for sure but when you go out do you feel like you need to be able to escape "just in case".

Unfortunately for a lot more people then you would think, home is the most unsafe place that there is. When I was growing up, and even now sometimes, it is very unsafe for me to be here at home. There are different reasons for everyone to feel safe or unsafe… no matter where they are. For some people, yes… home is the safest place. But even still… I don’t think it would be healthy to spend every living moment inside. But I guess people do what works for them… Try to keep an open mind and try not to think that "everyone" feels a certain way.
