Question by kombatmaster12: How do I fix my VERY frustrating laptop mouse keys.?
Alright, ever since my mother started using Facebook back in June last year, she has become addicted to it and stole my laptop a lot to check her annoying virtual farm and frontier. She made the screen lag and she has a nasty habit of mashing in the mouse keys and typing very slow and "aggressively" on the keyboard and tends to destroy the mouse keys. Whenever I need to use the computer for some usage I can't stand it! The mouse key looks normal. It's a VAIO Sony Vista VGN and the mouse looks fine. Although if I gently tap the key it will not work, you know the average tap to make it so it doesn't break it! I can never get it to work. It starts at the left and it won't work from any direction but right where it's still held up. Essentially it's mashed into the computer at an angle on the click to where i have to push my thumb into the key to make it work correctly and hold it down to stay. Sometimes it even slips and messes up all sorts of files and work I do on it because of the sticking. I have never dared pry open the computer to check but have tried air dusting, pushing it up with a small metal strip, and even mashing it in from the other side. Shortly after one fit of rage when trying to play The Sims 3, I got frustrated and rapped my finger against the key and it killed my computer to a loud and annoying chirping sound followed by a distorted screen and no controls but to start the computer over. This has become more sensitive after that and I can't raise a temper with it or it will do the same and I lose a lot of work. The right key is just fine and you can noticeably feel the difference in the key height as well. I have no access to a vehicle and my father likes to save every penny he can and assumes taking things into a shop means that the thing is broken. The other issue is that my mother likes to stay on my computer and hoard it for hours on end on Facebook being a "rash" to everyone on her list and helping with their non existent potatoes. This makes it harder to keep the mouse "safe" and it makes me frustrated that she ruined my only thing the house that I earned myself and have registered to me. It's like my own property essentially and I hate it that I never get to use it and when I do it's slow from Facebook stuff she downloads and the mouse being all to hell and the keys "popped." The bottom line is this:is there a way to save my mouse before I just throw the damn thing into the wall and light it on fire in rage? I also hate having to use hotkeys for just about every single thing on my laptop as well because of the lack of mouse function. (spell check was hard to fix the few mistakes on this by the way.) Please help me and 10 points to best answer and no "get a new computer" comments please or I'll just mark them as spam and ignore them. (If you can even do that on YahooAnswers) PS: I DO HAVE A USB MOUSE but the same thing happened to it, Facebook, mash, dead, won't even work with fresh batteries.

Whether you like the answer or not, you have to face facts. Your laptop (as described in your very, very long question) will take major overhauling to be put right. And while your Mother continues to abuse the laptop, then you would be wasting money in getting it repaired.
The only solution is to get another laptop, use strong BIOS and User passwords so your Mother can't use it, and lock it away in your bedroom! Leave your Mother using the old and rather battered heap of junk!
