As long as the house was certified as safe by the cleanup team, usually supervised by the state. Normally everything but the studs have to be replaced and it sounds like that happened.

It seems to me that as long as the lab is gone and walls, tiles, etc. have been replaced it would be safe. I might be a little leary of the dirt and stuff outside, who knows if they just threw those chemicals out in the yard. I think it would be OK, but I have no experience w/ meth labs, so take it for what it is worth.

The state has strict regulations on the remedial procedures for meth labs.
That said, you’re banking on a private contractor doing a thorough job. We are still informed when responding to an address which was a former meth-lab from 10 plus years ago. Things like to limit our exposure inside the property and keep our gloves on…
I wouldn’t buy property that was formerly a meth lab regardless of how discounted. (There’s a reason why its discounted)
Your best bet for a full answer would be to talk to the hazmat guys at your fire department.

I wouldn’t even set foot in a house like that. No telling how much of the fumes have gotten into the structural members not to mention everyone that knows it used to be a meth house.

If the work that was done to clean up the house was done by people who deal with the disposal of hazardous materials I’d say yes, it’s safe. If it wasn’t done by someone who specializes in that type of work I’d say no. The byproducts of meth production can be very dangerous and hard to clean up. Unless someone specializes in hazardous materials they won’t know what to look for and in all likely hood would not be cleaning it up but more like covering it up. I’d definitely want to know who did the clean up and repairs.
