“safest” way to use the AC power supply for your laptop?
Question by secret_oktober_girl: "safest" way to use the AC power supply for your laptop?
When your laptop is already ON and you want to use AC power supply rather than battery power.....should you
A) Plug power supply into wall outlet FIRST and THEN plug it into your laptop?
or
B) Plug your cord into the laptop FIRST and THEN plug it into the wall outlet?
Is there a difference? Does either way have an affect on your laptop's battery--as far a sudden surge of power is concerned?

Doesn’t make a difference. let the battery drain from time to time and recharge to keep cells healthy
110 goes to transformer then computer
In theory, if you plug into the laptop first, you might avoid a small spark that would ultimately degrade the plug going into the laptop, but the effect is trivial, and the laptops are designed for hot plug of ANY of the connectors not to do damage.
