Wall Safes Video with Dye the Safe Guy

www.safeandvaultstore.com Hi, Dye the Safe Guy here today to talk about wall safes. First we are going to talk about the types of locks and then we are going to talk about the different types of wall safes that are available on the market today. Wall safes come in two different types. Usually a burgar safe like this wall safe here which is steel only. Typically 316" metal in the door and fits in between 16" studs and will go about 6" or 7" deep on a 2 x 6 wall. Then there is a burglar fire wall safe that gives you an added one hour fire protection. The burglar fire wall safes require that you have at least 15" or 16" depth behind the wall. Otherwise they wont work. And you also have to support it from the back with 2 x 6s or 2 x 8s to make sure that the added weight thats sticking out behind the wall is supported. Most wall safes come with two types of locks. Either a dial combination lock that has a factory preset combination. Or, a digital lock as you see here that you can set your own combination on. Another unique quality of the First Alert and Mesa Safe wall safes is they are adjustable so you can actually telescope the back of safe up to 7 12" deep if you have a 2" x 6" wall that will allow you an extra 1 12" behind the safe thereby giving you more room inside the safe. A very unique feature of the Mesa and First Alert wall safes. We recommend that you have a professional contractor, general contractor install the wall safe between the studs in your home <b>...<b>

Hidden Wall Safe

To provide ultimate safety for your most valued items you need to give real thought to how you protect them. This will generally entail spending some money on personal security items such as safes, but the amount that you spend can become a very high number. How much is too much? Well, the more pertinent question should possibly bre “How safe is safe enough?”. A wall safe seems to be an adequate level of security for most people, but there is a constituency of people who feel that owning a wall safe is not quite security enough.

The reason for this is that many burglars are resourceful people who are familiar with security measures practised by homeowners – more familiar in some cases than the people who purchase the security items. These people will look behind paintings and filing cabinets, and in the usual spots where people hide safes. To use the concept of a secret, hidden wall safe to its highest level of security, it is important to try and stay one step ahead of the burglar, in hiding your safe somewhere that only you will know there is a safe.

One popular method of disguising a wall safe is to use a familiar item that would be on a wall anyway. Among the main ways of doing this is to use a false wall socket. The knowledge that many burglars have will tell them that often a false wall socket will be used. But if you have a number of sockets in your walls, it is possible to make the false one look exactly the same as all of the others. A burglar will always want to complete his job as quickly as possible. So trying to check and remove every socket on your wall will be a step too far for most – and could keep your goods safe.

Having a wall safe is one way of keeping your most valued items safe from the wandering hands of a burglar whose intent to get possession of a valued item is matched only by their resourcefulness. There are many ways in which you can use an item that can be purchased from any good security service company to make it as secure as possible. A typical wall safe might be seen by a potential thief as a challenge that can be surmounted. But there are ways to tilt the balance in your favor.

wall safe Hidden Wall Safe

One way to do this is to purchase a hidden wall safe. Wall safes in general may be seen by a burglar who will then set their mind to tricking their way in. Criminals may be well versed in finding places where a safe might be, but if the wall safe is disguised as something else – a wall socket is one particular favorite but it can equally be hidden in a fake clock, or even behind a false brick. Even if a burglar knows that false bricks are often used to disguise a safe, are they really going to look behind every brick in your house?

Using your head, along with the ingenuity of the companies who make these clever little items, can make your valuables that little bit safer – which is worth investing a few of your hard earned dollars in, surely? These items are available on the Internet for impressively low prices, so why not check them out?

To protect your valuables it is essential that you find the right method of protection. You will know which is the right method – your needs may differ greatly depending on what it is that you are trying to hide. For example, if you are trying to hide small items like trinkets, colectable coins or cards, it may be best for you to purchase a small wall safe. A small safe has a few advantages over the bigger ones. First of all, it is easier to fit in your wall, and easier to conceal.

Concealment is a major issue in protection. If you have smaller items to protect, it makes little sense to use a large space for their concealment. Hidden safes are available in a range of different looks, including wall sockets and even bricks. The advantage to this is obvious. If you look at a wall, what do you expect to see? Bricks, sockets, whatever makes up a wall. So for a burglar to find a hidden safe, they need to be either extremely perceptive or have inside knowledge.

If people do not know something is there, they cannot easily put their hands on it, they cannot get into it and they cannot steal what is inside it. So if you have something small to hide, hide it somewhere small. This will make things a lot easier to keep out of the hands of miscreants. Small wall safes are available for this purpose, and fit it perfectly.

default Floor, In Floor and Wall Safes: Which Style is Best for You?

Most people purchase a safe to protect personal valuables from fire or theft. Your circumstances, as well as personal preferences, determines your needs in what type of safe you need. There are a lot of safes out there, especially if you take into account all the small and portable safes. But when it comes to the larger home and gun safes, there are three main styles based upon where the safe is placed. Those three styles are floor, in-floor and wall safes.

When I think of wall safes, I think of TV or movies and safecracking. Such as Jennifer Garner in Alias having to steal the priceless Rambaldi artifact from the bad guy's office safe. In movies, the safe seems to usually be hidden behind a picture, like in the Thomas Crown Affair, so that may not be the best way to disguise wall safe since that would be the first place any movie goer would look.

Wall safes are usually smaller than floor safes, are not very difficult to install, and provide convenient storage for important items. Of course, if installed in dry wall, it is not very secure from burglars since they could just remove the entire safe and carry it off to open else where. If you need security and not just fire protection (which you probably want, or why would you conceal your safe in a wall? Just because its cool?) then you need to install the safe with concrete in a concrete, block or brick wall.

Floor, In Floor and Wall Safes: Which Style is Best for You?

Floor safes are the style seen a lot in local sports and general stores. These are safes that, as you can probably guess, are designed to sit on the floor. They are normally quite heavy and are bolted down, usually to the floor but often to a wall also, or two walls if the safe is placed in a corner. Both the weight and the bolts are huge deterrents to burglars. If you are not placing your floor safe on a ground floor, you will want to make sure that the floor can support the weight of the safe. The last thing you want is your safe to break through the floor and fall to the basement or apartment bellow you!

In its own weird way, an in-floor safe is a combination of floor and wall safes. You use the floor instead of the wall, and you place the safe inside of it. These types of safes often do not meet UL construction guidelines to earn a UL fire rating, but still are fairly safe against fire and burglary if installed wisely. The best place to put an in-floor safe is in the corner of your concrete basement floor. The basement because it is the lowest floor in your house. Fire rises, so the safe won't get as hot as quickly as a safe higher up in your house. This gives the extra fire protection desired and compensates for the lack of in-floor safes not meeting UL standards. The concrete is best for the same reasons wall safes are more secure in concrete - harder to carry off. And finally, in the corner because if someone does try to break into your safe, it makes it a lot more uncomfortable for the thief, it is harder to access from all sides and therefore takes longer to break into.

Floor, In Floor and Wall Safes: Which Style is Best for You?

Any of these three styles of safes is great for protecting your valuables, you just have to decide what works best for you. If you are building a home, then it is an opportune time for installing in-floor or wall safes, but these can be installed in any home at any time as long as you meet the manufactures guidelines. So don't be deterred and rule out these options. Check out all options before choosing your safe.

What is a Diversion Safe? Ask 10 of your friends and I'll bet very few could tell you what they looked like. Why? Because they're some of the neatest gadgets ever invented. They allow you to safely hide your valuables, yet leave them in plain sight!

ea8c59064d7d1898f2996f5252d6611e Diversion Safes Hide Your Valuables in Plain Sight! So, let's go back to the question "What is a Diversion Safe"? Sometimes called a hidden safe or fake safe, a Diversion Safe is a product made from an ordinary object such as a book, soda can, candle or even a wall outlet plug.

These products are seen every day in homes -- products such as books, cleanser, hair spray, canned soda, Desenex, even Kibbles 'n Bits Dog Food. These products are hollowed out, weighted to feel full, and with the top and/or bottom twisting off to show the secret hiding place for your valuables. You can't tell the difference between the real product and the Diversion Safe. They look just like the real McCoy.

Now, how many of us still hide our valuables under our mattress, behind a loose brick in the wall or even under a floor board? Sure, some people think that nobody would ever look in their bureau drawer for folding money rolled in a sock or in a hat box in the closet, right?

Did you know that a burglar usually spends less than 8 minutes in a house?
Why -- because he is looking for easy opportunities.

Don't you think that by now the burglars know the usual places to look! And yet we still use the same old hiding places. Well then, how about hiding your valuables where a burglar would not have the time to look. While he's checking all the "regular" places, your valuables are out in the open and even though they're in "plain sight," he goes right by them without even looking.

1a721e41548931d538b179fcf0104e0b Diversion Safes Hide Your Valuables in Plain Sight!Diversion Safes can discourage any burglar because he doesn't have time to search the entire house. Put the Diversion Safe in the space that it would normally belong.

For example, Ajax Cleanser might be kept with your cleaning products, peanut butter jars might belong in the pantry and so forth. What burglar would look in a peanut butter jar for valuables?

And don't forget about your office, car or garage. Also, you might want to take one or two safes on vacation. (There are burglars there, too!) There's enough of a selection for just about any place you might need. Diversion Safes come in many types of products -- there are more than 6 different types of soda can safes alone.

These products are so versatile that you would find dozens of places to hide your valuables as well as house keys or even a note to your child or spouse. Just let your imagination run wild.

Diversion Safes are inexpensive and there's a great selection from which to choose. They make great door prizes and pollyanna gifts, too. Wouldn't one or two be great as house warming gifts for the new homeowner?

Fingerprint Wall Safe

Purchasing a wall safe in which to keep your valuables is a major step to keeping safe that which matters to you. Whether it is of sentimental value or real, tangible commercial value, putting your valuables into a safe gives you a level of security that cannot be gained from other ways of safe keeping. Putting them into a wall safe with added levels of security is an even wiser step. By doing this you will guarantee that only the most resourceful of professional thieves will have a chance of getting their hands on what you have hidden away.

There is probably no way of making an item 100% safe without putting it completely beyond even your own reach. But investing in a good safe will make the items that are most valuable to you safer than they could imaginably be without one. There are a few different ways of locking a safe. The old fashioned analogue dial is used very seldom by companies who make safes these days, as they tend to prefer methods that are more difficult to “crack”. For this reason, PIN codes that are almost impossible to guess, or better yet biometric data are being used increasingly often.

Fingerprinting is the most frequently used type of biometric data in personal security. Every fingerprint is unique, so for a thief to gain access to a correctly-maintained biometric/fingerprint safe is next to impossible. Use the settings on your biometric safe, and possibly a trusted second party, to make it safer still.

Biometrics Wall Safe

There are as many ways to crack safes as there are different ways to make them “uncrackable” – but if you want to make it impossible for anyone you don’t trust to get at the valuables that you keep within your home or business premises, then a biometric safe is as close as you will get to being completely safe from unforeseen resourceful criminals.

Biometric data is being used far and wide at the moment to differentiate between people for the purposes of security. ID cards and passports of the future are widely expected to contain an element of biometric data in order to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the holder of the documentation is the person whose details are on the  card.

Popular biometric wall safes are:-

While there are still issues to sort out as to whether that is a legal, and morally sound, method of using such data, using it in a way that protects the individual and their property from criminal intent is open to no such debate.

6e5d0048b4248a0bf571cf679fcb20e3 Biometrics Wall Safe

The advantage of using biometric data as a way of identifying people is simple. By using such data – most commonly a fingerprint – the individual is proving beyond all doubt that they are the person to whom the items in the safe belong, or at least are trusted enough by that person to give them access to the safe. This presents a major challenge, then, to even the most resourceful safe cracker. Working out a combination is one thing, but changing your fingerprint is still beyond even the best scientists.
