What do you think of Sentinel Gun Safes?

I'm thinking of buying the 12 gun Sentinel gun safe, but I'm not too sure about their quality and construction. I can't even find a website for them.
Inexpensive but functional
They wont keep a pro out or a determined amateur with enough time but they serve the purpose most of us need if they are properly bolted in place
I'm not sure of their fire rating but most safes rely on drywall anyway
If fire is a major concern put a few gallon jugs of water on top of the safe
If a fire gets hot enough the plastic will melt

we had a case were some motivated crooks pulled a high- dollar safe out of a house with a 4x truck once. The safe was recovered 75 miles away…cut open and empty. Of course, the guns are long gone. Moral …locks are for honest people. With a little planing you can break a bank vault.. so a "safe" not fail safe.
I see those boxes at K mart, Wal mart and sporting goods stores…webisite or not they are easy to get.
I have a couple of Sentinal gun boxes.. (stack on brand is similar).
They do whats expected of them…keep the kids and other prying eyes off my guns. Those boxes satisfy the storage laws in my state…I know if someone really wanted my guns they would take them.
I know some safes are fire rated… but high heat inside the box can cause damage even if there is not a fire in the box per se.
added for the guy under me… I paid about $75 bucks for the Sentinal box I have… the 8 gun version (it holds about 15 if you load it up right,lol)… I paid about $60 for the pistol box … $1200 will get a nice fire rated safe just about any any sporting goods in the US

They work as well as any other safe. I have an enclosed panic room with steel reinforced doors at home. Basically the room is a safe itself, but I still want to get one of those sentinels as well. Just waiting on the magic money fairy to deliver 1200 bucks.

One winter years ago we had our home broken into while we were away. They tried hard to get into into our Browning gun safe but could not. A friend had his cabin burn to the ground with both a Sentinel gun safe, some off brand one and a Browning gun safe inside; 90% of the guns in the Browning safe were fine, all were destroyed in the other safes.
So I guess it comes down to you get what you pay for. My $3,000 Browning safe saved over $10,000 worth of guns and much more in jewelry/coin collections as well as vital documents and cash.
It was three grand well spent. I am sure a real expert safe cracker could get in it, but the average criminal cant.
PS After than break in we installed an elaborate security system that even takes videos of intruders and calls me on my cell phone. A secure home prevents them reaching the safe in the first place.
